Image
31.3.19 - The future of the country and in our respective communities, lies on the well-being of our kids. Besides being active socially, the kids need to stay healthy also. As they grow up, they need to also know their other peers and carnivals like this, provide a good platform for them to mix around and getting to know their friends from other races too. United People, United Nation.

Sambutan Hari Polis Ke-212

Image
25.3.19 - Who will keep the peace when there's trouble? Who will keep your homes safe when you 'balik kampung' during the festive holidays. For their sacrifices, the police have done a great to keep the community safe. It's a thankless job but a necessary task in society. Thank you, Police!

Fire at Metal Scrap Yard

Image
20.3.19 - When one doesn't keep the rubbish and mess under control, fires are inevitable. And today, the fire brigade was called in after someone in the community spotted a fire at a scrap metal yard. The fire brigade arrives soon enough and the fire was put out in no time. Will you take the opportunity to call the fire brigade the next time something like this happens again? It's just about making a phone call, right?

Rubbish Mess

Image
20.3.19 - If society doesn't care about their living environment and continue to be lackadaisical towards the area's cleanliness, this photographic evidence of recklessly strewn rubbish will be the result. However, don't worry as the local community leaders strive to clear the 'grey areas' and continue to educate and engage with the community on good civic mindedness. You have to do your part, agree?

World Women's Day

Image
17.3.19 - World Women's Day is a celebration of the women folk and they play a really important part in society. Giving birth to the national population and nurturing the children is already a big part, agree? Let's show them some appreciation and give them a hug, will you?

Bengkel Membuat Roti

Image
9.3.19 - Communities need to be engaged and this 'Bengkel Membuat Roti' was initiated. Guess who's the main attendees? The women folks would be the most interested parties. Guys would just buy bread from the bakery, right? Ho ho ho

Traffic Management

Image
7.3.19 - Traffic management is always a crucial part of any community, as we transport ourselves and our kids to work and school respectively. The number of vehicles on the road, especially cars, have increased tremendously since 10 years ago, as new housing areas are launched and populated. The perennial traffic jam can take a toll on a person's stress level and therefore, the traffic needs to be managed better. That would mean the existing KK roundabout at the main entrance need to be improved and now, we have side lanes constructed so that the traffic congestion can be eased (opened on 24.3.19). Besides this, traffic management within the community also means that new traffic lights will be installed, so that vehicles can enter and leave junctions smoothly, in queue. Humans are selfish in nature and physical measures need to be implemented, right?

Gempur Denggi (MPP Zon 9)

Image
2.3.19 - The scourge of the aedes mosquito is most feared and so, a community effort or 'gotong-royong' activity was organised by MPP Zon 9 to clean up the housing area and also to create awareness to the risk of dengue fever. The local fire authority also chipped in to help, and with this joint effort, the mosquito breeding areas were eliminated, at least for this round. We need to continue to keep the place clean and stagnant water (potential mosquito breeding areas) eliminated.

CNY 2019

17.2.19 - This year's Chinese New Year celebration falls on 5th February and will last a period of 15 days (also known as Chap Goh Mei or 15th night). Another cultural festival not to be missed as both food and entertainment are served. Annually celebrated by the local community at the basketball court beside the Kota Kemuning lake and hosted by the ADUN and this time around, it's YB Ganabatirau a/l Veraman.  Customary mandarin oranges were distributed, as a symbol of prosperity (oranges are called 'kam' - meaning gold in the Chinese language) and wishes of 'Gong Xi Fa Cai' were offered.

Ponggal Celebration 2019

Image
15.1.19 - Ponggal or the Harvest Festival is celebrated by the Indian community over 4 days. 'Pongal' means 'to boil' and 'Ponga' means 'overflowing', which indicates abundance or prosperity. You'll see families boiling milk in a claypot, usually in the moring, till it overflows. When it overflows, it is customary to blow a conch shell and shout 'Pongalo Pongal' to mark the auspicious festival. In Malaysia, it's another occasion to celebrate the diverse cultural festivals across the country. In the local community, we can see the various races come together to observe this practise and leaders will officiate the ceremonies.
